FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force on the 1st October 2006 - states that;
"The responsible person, must ensure that their employees are provided with adequate safety training — either at the time when they are first employed; or on their being exposed to new or increased risks because of their being transferred or given a change of responsibilities, within the responsible person’s undertaking;
The introduction of new work equipment into, or a change, respecting work equipment already in use within, the responsible person’s undertaking; the introduction of new technology into the responsible person’s undertaking; or the introduction of a new system of work into, or a change respecting a system of work already in use within, the responsible person’s undertaking. This is essential to enable you and your staff to know how and when to use fire equipment".
Midland fire can provide all of your training requirements from a basic, fire drill and route plan, to fire extinguisher appliance training and fire warden, fire marshall training as well as various first aid courses to suit your requirements. Most of which can be completed at a location of your choice.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Persons who have had fire awareness or fire warden training, but without any practical experience.
Persons who may be required to use fire extinguishers at work.
WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?
The course consists of an in-depth briefing on fire precautions regulations and legislation, chemistry of fire and how it spreads, types and classifications of fire, common causes of fire, hazard spotting and hazard reduction, and fire extinguisher recognition.
LIVE FIRE TRAINING USING VARIOUS TYPES OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Our fully qualified service engineers will demonstrate how to use a fire extinguisher in the event of a real emergency and finally they will invite you and your staff to have a go and get hands-on experience by setting off fire extinguishers in order to see how the appliance performs. There is nothing like practical experience to reduce the fear of dealing with fire
HOW MANY CAN ATTEND?
We recommend that a groups of up to 10 people per training session, if you have more than 10 people, We can accommodate you by having two or more sessions. Each training session lasts approximately one hour.
DURATION OF 1 HOUR (APPROXIMATELY)
Following the practical your staff will be invited to ask questions about the training. Upon completion Midland fire will issue you with a Certificate of Fire Training with the names of all members of staff who were in attendance.
Our Fire Warden and Fire Marshal Training courses are held periodically throughout the year and can be standalone or shared courses.
The Fire Warden Course Identifies and allows the candidates to handle & use a live extinguisher. The candidates receive more in-depth knowledge regarding the risks of fire and its outcome if left unchecked.
The course material contains a Fire Warden checklist which can be easily adapted to the workplace and act as a memory aid for checks which should be regularly carried out.
Course materials include a workbook with detailed information. Each candidate receives a “Fire Warden” High Visibility Vest.
Midland Fire offer a wide range of First Aid courses which can be held on or off site dependant on your requirements.
We can offer rates per candidate for smaller companies or day rates for larger groups.
We can deliver the 3 day Emergency First Aid at Work course’s and the 2 day Re qualification.
